Think at Night

Directed by Greg Hanec

Logline: A former artist debates with friends the merits of doing art on an overnight walk.

Synopsis: A former artist debates with friends the merits of doing art on an overnight walk, all while being followed by a poem. The technique of the film itself acts as a meta-narrative that "debates" with the main character's negative view of art, with it's artfully shot sequences.

Director's Statement: This is a film where the main character is against art. He's against anybody doing art, but the techniques in the making of in the film were intended to be very artful, thereby creating a gap between the lead character and the film itself for the viewing of the film to reflect on.

The film was started in 1992 as an improvised film; I would do scene one and edit it to completion. I would then have that scene tell me what scene two should be. I did half the film that way before realizing I had something. I then decided to plot out the rest of the film. The first shoots were in 1992 with the last shoots occurring in 2007. The film takes place over approximately 18 hours. I play the lead so I have aged in that 18 hours, or 15 years.
